The department has state of the art equipment required for psychomotor & cardiovascular animal research. Undergraduate students are also encouraged & guided for participating in research, including the ICMR STS research fellowships aimed at giving an orientation towards research to these students. This also helps them to strengthen their CV for future applications to postgraduate courses.

The department efficiently manages the Central Animal House Facility of the institution, which also caters to the requirements of some of the sister institutes. The Faculty is actively involved in the Animal & Clinical Ethical Committees as well. It also heads the Clinical Pharmacology Unit of the institute housed in the step down ICU of Bharati Hospital.
