OVERVIEW
The Department of Anaesthesiology at Bharati Hospital, Pune, has been a key pillar of surgical care and clinical excellence since 1991. With a team of skilled anaesthesiologists, educators, and researchers, the department provides anaesthesia services across a broad range of specialties—including general surgery, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic, orthopaedics, obstetrics, paediatrics, and transplant procedures. Our faculty also supports critical care, emergency services, and diagnostic interventions like MRI, CT scans, and cardiac catheterisations, ensuring safe and seamless support throughout the patient journey.
Every anaesthetic plan is customised, combining advanced technology with a strong emphasis on patient safety, comfort, and recovery. The department houses modern operation theatres, a dedicated pain clinic, and a well-equipped Post-Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU).

- Advanced ventilation: HFO, CPAP, HFNC, and volume guarantee ventilation
- Nitric oxide therapy for pulmonary hypertension
- Neonatal retrieval services and ambulance facility
- Surfactant therapy (LISA / INSURE)
- Functional echocardiography and in-house neurosonography
- Transcutaneous bilirubin monitoring, ABG, EEG
- OAE screening and ROP laser therapy
- Total parenteral nutrition (TPN)
- Newborn screening for metabolic and genetic conditions
- High-risk developmental follow-up clinic
- In-house Human Milk Bank (est. 2022)
- Pasteurized Donor Human Milk (PDHM) supply for at-risk neonates
- Lactation counselling and mother support
- Monthly collection of 20–35 litres PDHM benefitting 30–40 neonates
